With Christmas just around the corner, some of you might be looking for some last minute Christmas gifts ideas. Why not make something? These coasters make great gifts for any occasion, and there is nothing better than getting a personalized gift! I Have made these in the past, and everyone was ecstatic! The best part is that they are very cheap and easy to make. I found my tiles at my local home improvement store for ONLY $0.15 a tile. So, without further adieu, Let’s make some coasters!
DIY Photo Tile Coasters
supplies:
- tiles
- pictures
- mod podge
- mod podge clear acrylic sealer
- cutting board or scissors
- self adhesive felt pads
- sponge brush
Cut your printed pictures to the correct size, to fit tile.
With your sponge brush, apply a thin coat of mod podge to the tile, then lay the picture on top. Set aside and let dry.
Once the coasters are dry, apply a thin layer of mod podge over the picture. (when applying mod podge over the picture it will be white. don’t worry it dries clear) Set aside and let dry.
Once the mod podge has dried clear over the picture, spray with mod podge clear acrylic sealer. Let dry
With your sponge brush apply another thin layer of mod podge and let dry.
Lastly, spray again with the modge podge acrylic. Then when dry, put on the self adhesive felt pads on all four corners to the back of tile.
Here is what the finished product will look like.
If you made these for yourself, go and enjoy your favorite beverage and use your new handmade coasters!
