Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and living it up to the fullest! It seems to be flying by, so we are trying to soak up every minute of it before it’s too late and we are back to waking up early, packing lunches, and rushing off to the daily grind.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen that we just spent some time in our happy place, Bear Lake! Bear Lake is truly a hidden gem in Utah/Idaho that we absolutely love and spend a lot of time there during the summer.
And this my friends is why we love it so much! They call it the Caribbean of the Rockies and looking at the pic below, you can see why. Isn’t it amazing?! That turquoise-blue freshwater still gets me every time!
Ideal Beach Resort
We have stayed in different places over the years, including renting a house and staying in a cabin at the Bear Lake Marina Side KOA (will share details of our stay there as well soon, as it is another great place to stay). Ideal Beach Resort has been the location of choice the last few times we have stayed. Here are the reasons why.

Ideal Beach Resort Accomodations
All the condos/rooms are facing the water, with a large grassy area in front of them, and 6 motel rooms right alongside the beach!
While the convenience of more space is so nice when traveling with kids, we choose location over space. The motel rooms are located right on the beach making it convenient for lake days! Each Motel room has two double beds, AC, TV, microwave, and refrigerator. They are each individually owned, so each room is not the same and may include more amenities as well as different decor.
This last time we stayed in Motel #3 and it was equipped with a little kitchenette! It had a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker as well as dinnerware. I should keep this room a secret so that I don’t run the risk of it always being sold out on the days we want to stay there, haha!
They have three types of condos at Ideal Beach Resort, Deluxe, Standard, and Economy. Each type has fully equipped kitchens, full bathrooms, and full access to all the resort amenities. Making this place great for any size family and needs!

a playground on the beach as well as this giant-sized chessboard. The kids loved this! So much fun!
Of course a pool and hot tub, as well as a plethora of activities including beach rentals. They have these fun trampolines that can be rented too. They are out on the water, making it a super fun activity for everyone! The amenities at this resort are endless. You will never find yourself bored or with nothing to do here. Here, you will be sure there will be smiles on everyone’s faces!

I can’t believe how fast the summer went by this year! I feel like I blinked, and then all of the sudden it is now November. Bear Lake sure looks delightful! Never knew such a beautiful blue lake existed high up in the Rockies. And I also agree, best to stay closest to the lake — so much easier to walk to the fun spots instead of having to drive!
