Hellooo Friday! I can’t believe it is already May, and you know what that means? Mothers Day is fast approaching! If your still looking for a fabulous gift idea that can be made in a matter of minutes, this painted mason jar vase is just that!
I had actually made this painted mason jar vase for my neighbor who recently got diagnosed with breast cancer. After making it I had a feeling I would be making a few more for the moms in our lives cause they turned out so cute!
Painted Mason Jar Vases
What you will need:
- chalk paint
- foam brush
- sanding block
- mason jar
- fresh flowers
- acrylic paint (optional)
Step 1: Paint your mason jar using a foam brush with two coats of chalk paint. I used Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint in color everlasting. In honor of breast cancer, I wanted it to be pink though. I didn’t have any chalk paint in that color, so I just simply mixed a little bit of Americana acrylic paint in color carousel pink to the everlasting chalky paint, to get my desired color. Then lightly sanded areas with a sanding block for a little distressing.
Step 2: Then I just used some tacky glue and glued some twine around the mouth of the mason jar. Then added some fresh flowers.
That is it! In just a few steps you have a super cute painted mason jar vase to give to that special someone!
Then we packaged up some homemade truffles and my little guys homemade card, and delivered it to my neighbor who was beyond thrilled!
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and a wonderful Mothers Day next week!
