So this nightstand has been in need of a makeover for years now. The time has finally come to remove the dust that it has been collecting, and bring it back to life!
With the help of Modern Masters Metallic Paint collection, this nightstand will be able to see the light of day again!
As you can see, this nightstand has seen better days. After many years and bad paint jobs later it just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Though it still is a nice and functional piece of furniture I just couldn’t throw it out. Now I am so glad that I didn’t, as I absolutely love it now! It’s always so amazing what a little paint can do!
Since this nightstand is made out of particle board, there was no sanding to be done. All was needed was some primer. I however did not have any primer on hand, so I opted to use some chalk paint as my base since I always have that on hand ๐ I painted one coat of CeCe Caldwell’s chalk paint in color Beckley Coal.
Once that was dry I painted two coats of Modern Masters Metallic Paint in ‘Warm Silver‘. I couldn’t believe how smooth this paint goes on, it is seriously as smooth as butter!
After it was dry, I decided to try a little something using the other color of Modern Masters Metallic Paint that I had. I dipped the tips of my paint brush in the Modern Masters Metallic Paint in color ‘Smoke‘ and then dabbed it on a paper towel, making it so I didn’t have a ton of paint. Using long strokes, I painted it over the warm silver in certain areas giving it a little more depth I guess you could say. Before letting it dry, I went over those areas again in warm silver. I knew that if it didn’t turn out it could easily be fixed with more paint. Although it is very subtle, I love how it turned out. It really just gives it a little bit more of an added touch!
After everything was dry and complete, I added two coats of a clear protective top coat to protect my work.
I absolutely love the new look of this nightstand and think it is a keeper now!
