Would you believe me if I told you that this picture was from a place in California? I couldn’t believe it either! This gem is located just south of San Francisco in a small city on the coast called Half Moon Bay. I have yet to go to Scotland or Ireland but this feels about as close as it gets in the states! Listening to the bagpipers play at sunset while having a drink was perfection 🍻

One of the highlights to our Capitol Reef National

One of the highlights to our Capitol Reef National trip was the campground! Probably my favorite part 😊

Fruita Campground is so pretty and the only developed campground inside the park. The Fremont river trail runs along it that is a dog friendly trail, there are historic orchards that surround the campground that you can pick the fruit off of when in season, great location right off the scenic drive, trails and right next to the Gifford house and farm. The only thing missing was the fresh baked pies and cinnamon rolls at the Gifford House as it was closed for the season. That just means, we need to plan another trip back!

We had many firsts on this trip. Summits first time camping, our first time camping in a National park as well as our first time to Capitol Reef! Good times had by us all!

Working on a blog post and found these oldies but goodies that I wanted to share from a road trip to Zion a few years back.

If your headed to Zion National Park this year add the Fort Zion/Virgin River Trading Post to one of your pit stops. Perfect place to stop and get those wiggles out! Also… Fun fact… Word has it that this very spot is where willey coyote finally got over on that pesky roadrunner! (Legal disclaimer previous fun fact is not an actual fact 😉)

We loved playing In the giant themed playhouses that bring you back to the Wild West, feeding the animals carrots at the petting zoo and of course picking out rocks to add to the boys rock collection. Definitely worth the stop! On a side note, look at those boys..so little 🥰
