Good Morning!!! Today we are doing things a little different around here! Instead of sharing a DIY project, or whatever it might be, I will be sharing a little bit more about me! How does that sound?
I have been nominated by the wonderful and talented Kendra from Joy In Our Home to partake in the Tour through Blogland. This where you share a little bit more about yourself, your family, your home, and your blog. Plus get more of an inside look as well as some behind the scenes action of your favorite bloggers! At the end of this post I will then nominate three bloggers who will share their “tours” NEXT Monday. I was a little hesitant at first when Kendra asked me to do this. Although we have done a ton of work to our house, it still has much to be desired. I am currently working on updating our living room, and lets just say it is still a work in progress ๐
Huge thanks to Kendra for nominating me! Kendra shares so many great DIY projects as well as recipes. She recently shared how to make a board and batten headboard that I love!
If you haven’t already, pop on over to her blog page and see what else she has been up to!
Now on to behind the scenes look at Anything & Everything!
Before I start the interview questions, I thought I would share a little bit more about myself and my family.
I am a wife to incredible man (Spenser), a mom to the most amazing and happy little boy (Beckham), and to another of the four-legged variety (Marley)! There is something special about our house, this house was where my husband and I met 15 years ago. Yes,15 years! (that makes me feel so old haha!) My husband grew up in this house and when his dad and step-mom decided to move out of state we jumped on the opportunity to purchase our first home. With that being said there are so many memories here, from my husbands childhood memories, the place we met while having a bbq, our first house together, our first dog, and now having our first child in this home it will definitely be hard to let go whenever that time comes.
I started redecorating my living room about 6 months ago and it is still a work in progress. Pretty much painted the walls and I am slowly adding the finishing touches. Right now the highlights in the room are my crate coffee table and gallery wall. Sadly at the rate I am going on decorating this room, I will be putting up Thanksgiving/Christmas decorations instead haha!
During the summer months we like to spend most of our time outside either playing, entertaining or just relaxing in the hammock in our backyard (wish the hammock part happened more often :))
Now time for a little Q&A.
What am I working on?
Right now I am finishing up a project that I am working on with some other fabulous bloggers! Shhh it is a little bit of a secret. Don’t worry you wont have to wait to long as I will be posting it on Wednesday! Until then here’s a sneak peek…
After this project is done then it will be on to finishing up redecorating my living room, with a few projects in-between. There is one project in particular that I am really excited about. It is inspired by our favorite travel destination Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! My husband being the graphic designer that he is, he really makes my vision come together in these projects. Huge thanks to him as I am really not sure my vision would really come together without his creative input!
How does my work differ from others in it’s genre?
Well as you can see in the name, I am not really sure I have one specific genre. I pretty much just write about Anything & Everything! So I guess you could say that is how I differ from others? There are so many great bloggers out there and I think we are all unique and different in our own ways.
Why do I write/create what I do?
After having my son, I went from working a full time job in a medical office to being a stay at home mom. I was looking for something to keep me busy when he was napping etc… My husband kept telling me “you should start a blog” I would just laugh and say “yeah right, what am I going to write about and who is going to read it.” I have always enjoyed getting ideas on pinterest and recreating them in my own way, so I thought why not document my projects and share them with others. I would read these blogs and be so inspired by them, it made me want to inspire people as well. I am so glad I listened to my husband and took that final step in starting my blog. Although it is SO much work, it is very rewarding and is really fun! It also challenges me to do projects I never thought I would do before, and I am always up for a good challenge!
How does my writing/creating process work?
I wish I could say that I have things very planned and organized around here when it comes to this, but to be honest, that is not the case at all. I get an idea, buy the products to make it, to then just have it sit on a shelf for weeks before I even touch it! This drives my husband crazy! He is always asking me “Are you going to work on that or finish it anytime soon!” When I finally do sit down and start working on something, I like to take tons of pictures. I am a very visual person, and when browsing pinterest I am always drawn to the posts that have more than just one picture and step by step instructions. So that is what I like to do with my projects/posts. Once the project is finished then I start the writing process and edit my photos during that time, and hope that it all comes together as planned.
Hope you enjoyed getting to know a little bit more about me and some behind the scenes action! Now it is time to pass the torch on to these lovely and talented bloggers!
